Powering engagement for leading organizations

THE PROBLEM
Why most heritage trails struggle to reach their audience
Roadside markers tell only a fragment of the story. Printed brochures get tossed. Self-guided audio tours require apps visitors won’t download. Sites are spread across counties, and most travelers never make it past the first one or two stops. After the season ends, you’re left guessing — Did anyone visit? Which sites resonated? Did we reach new audiences?
THE FIX
A Heritage Trail Pass solves all of it.
- No app to download
- Every marker, monument, and site in one place
- Rich storytelling at every stop
- Every visitor captured as a first-party contact you own

Heritage Trails, powered by Seeker XP
Connecticut Revolutionary War Trail
CONNECTICUT VETERANS FOUNDATION
The Connecticut Revolutionary War Trail transforms the state’s role in America’s fight for independence into an interactive, story-driven experience. Visitors follow the path to victory through 9 themed badge tracks—from The Road to Yorktown and Spy Network to On the Water and Under Arms—each highlighting a different dimension of the Revolutionary War.
Participants earn points by exploring sites across Connecticut, unlocking badges at milestones ranging from 100 to 500 points per track. As they progress, visitors piece together the full story of the war—on land, at sea, and behind the scenes—through the people, strategies, and turning points that defined the Revolution.
The experience culminates in a grand prize drawing, where participants can earn entries by either unlocking 10 badges or reaching 1,500 points, creating multiple paths to completion and encouraging deeper exploration across the entire trail.
AAHA Virginia Heritage Challenge
AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE ASSOCIATION OF VIRGINIA
The “Walk in Their Footsteps” Virginia Heritage Challenge invites visitors to explore African American history across Virginia through a badge-based journey spanning multiple regions and themes. From cultural landmarks and museums to sites of resistance, innovation, and legacy, each stop connects participants to stories that shaped the nation.
Designed as a points-driven experience, participants earn badges as they explore—starting with milestones at 100, 200, 1,000, and up to 3,000+ points, unlocking titles like Heritage Explorer, Storyteller, Guide, and Legacy Builder. In addition, visitors can complete regional and thematic badge sets—including areas like Hampton Roads, Richmond Region, Northern Virginia, and Central Virginia, as well as themes like Black-owned businesses, arts and culture, and Civil Rights history.
With 15+ badges to unlock, the experience turns Virginia into a living journey of discovery—encouraging deeper exploration, repeat visits, and meaningful engagement with the people and places that define its heritage.

FAQ
A Heritage Trail Pass is a digital, mobile-first experience that lets visitors discover all the markers, monuments, and historic sites on your trail in one place, unlock the full story behind each stop, check in as they explore, and earn rewards for completing the journey. It replaces the printed brochure and dedicated app — no download required.
Apps require downloads, app store approvals, and ongoing maintenance — a major barrier for visitors making spontaneous stops. A Seeker XP Heritage Trail Pass works in any mobile browser. Visitors scan the QR code on a roadside marker or tap a link and they’re in. That removes the single biggest source of drop-off in heritage tourism.
No. The Heritage Trail Pass works entirely in the mobile browser. Visitors can save it to their home screen for quick access during a multi-day trip, but no app store install is ever required.
Several flexible options: geolocation (the visitor’s phone confirms they’re at the marker), QR code scan (printed on the marker itself or nearby signage), manual code, or photo upload of the marker. Most heritage trails use a mix to fit different site environments — some markers are on private property, some are at staffed museums, some are roadside-only.
Yes. Every marker can include archival photos, oral histories, primary source documents, audio clips, related figures, and links to deeper resources. The pass is your container for everything that won’t fit on the physical marker itself.
Most organizations launch their pass in under two weeks using Seeker XP’s no-code Experience Builder. Our customer success team supports you through onboarding, content setup, and launch — including help structuring narrative, badges, and regional clusters.
Yes. Heritage trails grow. New markers, regional clusters, themed sub-trails (e.g. Freedom Summer sites, Reconstruction-era courthouses, women’s suffrage markers) can be added at any time — your audience and badges carry forward across expansions.
You see real-time sign-ups, total check-ins, top-visited markers, completion rates, visitor email addresses (opted-in), demographic data where collected, and aggregate engagement metrics. After the season, you get an exportable wrap-up report ready for board meetings, grant reports, and stakeholder presentations.
Seeker XP offers flexible pricing tiers based on the size of your trail and the number of markers/campaigns you run. We work with state tourism offices, humanities councils, historical societies, and museum networks of all sizes. Book a demo for a tailored quote.
